Since 1992, Spanish converter Labelgrafic has been a supplier of high-quality labels for a wide range of industries. Now, the company is taking a step forward in its development by investing in flexo technology for the first time – with a Nilpeter FA press at the heart of this transformation.

With roots in offset printing, Labelgrafic is currently undergoing a reinvestment phase aimed at strengthening its market position and broadening its offering in close collaboration with long-term partner Adhesivos y Gráficas Ezquerro. The decision to adopt flexo technology represents a strategic shift, driven by increasing customer demand and promising new business opportunities.

Labelgrafic had previously operated without flexo technology, but evolving customer requirements and shifting market trends made the addition of this capability both logical and necessary. Following a comprehensive market review, the Nilpeter FA-Line emerged as the optimal solution.

“The example was clear with Adhesivos Ezquerro, and after comparing different options, it made perfect sense to choose Nilpeter,” says Enrique Desamparados of Labelgrafic. “We’re now close to having 10 flexo lines across our Group – all from Nilpeter. This not only simplifies training and operations but also enhances our agility and versatility as a Group.”

The newly installed Nilpeter FA-17 press was up and running quickly, delivering high-quality labels for the very sectors Labelgrafic had set out to serve. The transition from offset to flexo introduced new challenges, but the team adapted impressively fast.

“It was a challenge at first, but the speed with which we’ve embraced this new way of working has been surprising – and the results already speak for themselves,” Desamparados adds. “The press is stable, productive, and offers excellent register.”

Esagraf, Nilpeter’s long-standing partner in Spain, played a key role in the successful installation and commissioning. The collaboration ensured a smooth transition and swift integration of the new technology.

“The installation came with the usual teething issues, but they were quickly resolved thanks to Esagraf’s dedication,” says Desamparados. “Training was fast and effective – another reason why we value Esagraf as a long-term partner.”

With the Nilpeter FA-Line now an integral part of its production, Labelgrafic is already planning for further growth. The company has acquired an additional 7,000 square meters of land adjacent to its current facility, paving the way for future expansion and new press lines.

“In our case, the investment has been a resounding success,” Desamparados concludes. “The next step is to fill this line with work – and if things continue to go well, we’ll soon be thinking about the next one.”
